If you think that all that's needed to create a women's pack is to shorten the back and narrow the harness, then clearly you haven't asked women what they want.

Our women's line of packs use both scientific and real-life R&D  to establish the key factors demanded by women to create the perfect backpack.  No surprises - we know that women differ from men to in physique.  But we also found two key differences that influenced our design direction.

First, men and women carry loads distributed in different ways.  Men prefer to carry loads concentrated high on their back, giving a higher center of gravity.  Women prefer a lower carry and, as a result, we place more capacity in that portion of the women's packs.

Second is the overwhelming message from women that they prefer to organize their loads differently.  Lowe Alpine packs resond to this demand by adding creative pockets and organizational systems, both externally and internally.
